In the rain. On MTB tires.

The whining noise is the knobby tires, and the squealing is the brakes. We estimate that he was going about 40mph.

i tried that once on my bike (yes on knobby tires) and I put the GPS speedo app in my pocket, and reset the top speed, so it would show how fast i was going, I only got up to 22 mph, but it was freaking unstable at that speed (schwinn 18 speed bike on slightly knobby/road tires) I can't imagine it at double that speed.
